Biography
Benji Schwimmer is best known as a dancer, choreographer and TV personality. After having been artistic director for some of the biggest names in the pop music industry at an early age, his desire to create music had always been the next goal. The WEEKEND FORECAST was created by Schwimmer and long time best friend Ricky Purcell. Originally a solo electro pop act, the need for REAL instruments, and a full band became apparent early on in the creative process. “I just came to a point where I really wanted to rock,” says Schwimmer. “Dance is my first love, and I feel dance is greatly missed in my favorite genre of music, rock and roll. Why not make something we can both dance and rock out to?!?! The music biz is saturated with so many acts that are run by the ‘Man’, my last desire for TWF is to fall into some a-typical pop rock category without soul and lacking meaning. Everything written is based off my own personal experiences. Be it love, loss, regret, irony, heartache and the inevitable hope that things will get better.” The Weekend Forecast is now comprised of members Timmy Krebs, Josh Hatfield, Kris Sveen and Bobby Judd. Their music can be considered sincere, honest, melodic alternative rock. The release of “Sun, Doubt & Scenic Routes” will be the band’s debut release and they couldn’t more stoked to promote and perform the material from it. The band name, “The WEEKEND FORECAST,” is a dual representation of escapism and hope. We each have the weekly grind of working our 9 to 5′s or going to school. The weekend is always a means for escape and joy from such pressures. The forecast is something we as the human race hope is going to be good day in and day out. We look to the news, expecting the forecast to be great. We hope The Weekend Forecast’s music gives people such hope and escape. Tour Dates
